Luisa has provided trauma-informed care since 2020 when she entered community mental health. She provides psychotherapy to adolescents, young adults, and families.
Luisa is adept in the use of several evidence-based and innovative treatment models, including Attachment, Regulation, and Competency (ARC), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Sensory Motor Arousal Regulation Therapy (SMART). She incorporates bottom-up approaches to trauma-informed care so that clients gain support in nervous system regulation alongside traditional verbal processing.
Luisa earned her Master's in Mental Health Counseling from Boston College in 2020. She has worked in community mental health and has experience collaborating with external agencies such as the Department of Children and Families, Department of Youth Services, courts, and schools. Luisa is fluent in Portuguese and conversant in Spanish.
Luisa has been working in the field of trauma healing her whole career. Trauma informed care is a pillar of the Resonance therapy practice.
